Abstract

As is customary for symposia with many contributors (27 with 19 papers), the Proceedings of the 1965 symposium on the Biology of the California Islands has only now been published. "The symposium was the natural consequence of continuing studies carried out by the Garden staff whose objective is the publication of a flora of the California Islands" (p. 1) , and the preparation of the volume.
